Codependency can lead to you to feel under-appreciated and unimportant, as well as emotionally, physically and financially drained. Low self-esteem and the persistent need for validation and approval that comes from rescuing others, particularly in intimate relationships, are the primary symptoms associated with codependency. You may deny your desires and emotions because you fear others will not accept you, or that you will always be alone.
